The world is a scary place right now, so Kennywood is adding family-friendly activities to its annual spooky celebration.

At Phantom Fall Fest, guests can either come early for wholesome, autumnal fun, spend the night screaming in terror or do a little bit of both.

The event will be held each weekend from Oct. 1-31. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday, noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Kennywood’s chaperone policy will be in effect beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and all day on Fridays.

During this year’s festival, more than 30 rides and attractions will be open to give visitors one last gasp of summer fun.

The park will debut a menu featuring turkey legs, pumpkin funnel cakes, seasonal beer, specialty cocktails and other tasty treats.

Little boys and ghouls ages 12 and under are invited to wear costumes as they explore Kiddieland and Thomas Town, which will be decked out for the Halloween season.

Hardcore fright fans will have access to five haunted houses and four scare zones, adding chills to Kennywood’s usual thrills.
